Maria’s dress was designed by Saif Al-Obeidi who disclosed the inspiration behind it in a post, sharing,” The idea of ??the dress is inspired by the Assyrian era. It is represented by the winged bull, the most prominent traces of this era, which was destroyed and ruined by ISIS attack on the ruins of the city of Mosul. Where the large wing represents from the left the devastation and destruction and the burning of churches and mosques, in addition to the rape, captivity and restriction of freedoms to which women were subjected. The right side of the pavilion represents the new Mosul of building, urbanization, development and preservation of antiquities, and this is what beauty queen Maria Farhad aspires to in her message of peace as a queen from Iraq and from this ancient city.”

The judges table this evening included Crystal Rose Pierce, Stella Norasco, Gina Levis, Lady Wilnelia Forsyth and Joseph Da’Ponte, who had a tough decision to make as each contestant worked their magic on the runway. After an incredible show, the top thirteen delegates chosen included, France, Venezuela, Cameroon, Vietnam, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Cote d’Ivoire, Kenya, Czech Republic, Poland, Nicaragua, Bahamas and Dominican Republic.
