The finale of Miss World Canada 2022 was held on 13th November 2022 at the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts in Ontario where Emma Morrison was crowned the new winner. Emma will now represent Canada at the 72nd edition of Miss World.
2022 edition saw history being made as Emma Morrison bested 50 competitors to become the first ever Cree First Nations titleholder. Emma is 22 years of age and a Muskegowuk Cree woman and indigenous arts and crafts woman from Chapleau. Not a stranger to the pageantry, Emma previously won the titles Miss North Ontario and Miss Teenage Canada 2017 and went on to compete at Miss Teenager Universe in Mexico City.
Apart from being crowned Miss World Canada 2022, Emma also bagged the coveted Beauty With A Purpose award for her ‘Reconnecting Through Ribbon Skirts’ initiative oriented towards the empowerment of indigenous women from a young age.
Also at the finale, Layanna Robinson was crowned Miss Earth Canada 2023, Patricia Rosalyn Seward was crowned Miss Intercontinental Canada 2023, Alexa Grant was crowned Miss Supranational Canada 2023, and Yuliya Scherban was crowned Miss Grand Canada 2023. They will go on to represent Canada at the next edition of Miss Earth, Miss Intercontinental, Miss Supranational and Miss Grand International.
