Crowning and Dethroning is like a see-saw game in the world of beauty pageants. A girl is crowned and then you wait for few months (in few cases few days) to hear the news about their dethronement. 2016 should be named as the year of controversy and dethronement. The latest to add in the list is Miss World Kenya 2016 Roshanara Ebrahim. The news was made official in a press statement by Ashley Kenya Limited.

According to the Organisation, Roshanara Ebrahim breached their code of conduct and contract, due to which she had to be stripped off from the title. The press release statement of Ashley Kenya Limited read...
“Effective immediately, Roshanara Ebrahim will not be representing the country both domestically and internationally as Miss World Kenya. A grave situation has come to our attention that is in breach of our Code of Conduct and our contract with the reigning Miss World Kenya 2016 Roshanara. We uphold a strict code of conduct that expects Beauty Queens to manage their public and private life. This decision has been communicated to Roshanara and below is her response;
“It is with great sadness that I accept the decision of Miss World Kenya office to relinquish me of my duties as Miss World Kenya 2016. I urge aspiring beauty queens to ensure their personal life does not affect their role as Miss World Kenya. I wish my successor the best as we look to clinching top position in the Miss World competition later in the year.”

Apparently, 23 years old Roshanara was facing some disturbing elements in her personal life which contributed to cut short her reign. Prior to this, the budding law student was positive had partnered with Smile Train to help children with cleft lip get their smiles back. Seven months after her crowning the beauty has to give up her title.

The beauty queen reacted to the news and released a statement advising aspiring beauty queens to “ensure their personal life does not affect their role as Miss World Kenya.”
