Mariela Cerros crowned as Miss World Nicaragua 2021

The 70th edition of Miss World i.e. Miss World 2021 is scheduled to be held on 16th December 2021 in Coca Cola Music Hall, San Juan, Puerto Rico. Due to the pandemic last year, Miss World organization also cancelled the 2020 edition. Thus, the reigning queen Toni-Ann Singh of Jamaica will crown her successor at the 2021 edition.

The Miss Mundo Nicaragua organization held its coronation ceremony on 22nd May 2021 where Mariela Cerros was crowned as Miss Mundo Nicaragua 2021. The outgoing queen, Sheynnis Palacios, crowned her successor as Miss World Nicaragua 2021. Mariela was also awarded the awards, Best body in the competition and Beauty with a purpose.

Mariela Cerros took to her social media to share her gratitude as she wrote, “Miss World Nicaragua 2021! Thank you very much for all your support. God will always be my center, but I firmly believe in the power of discipline and conviction.”



In this edition, 40 candidates competed, 20 were selected and 12 were finalized for the finale that was hosted at the Holiday Inn-Convention Center. The pageant was broadcasted on Saturday from the digital platforms of Canal Vos TV and Miss World Nicaragua networks.

Mariela’s court included:

1st Runner-up – Kendal Suárez

2nd Runner-up – María del Pilar Sequeira

3rd Runner-up – Katherine Mora

4th Runner-up – Lyska Cuthbert

5th Runner-up – Jatzary Salvatierra

A talented young woman, Mariela Cerros is studying a Bachelor of Marketing. She likes to do high-intensity physical training, including Cross-Fit; she has also been a Judo athlete. She also likes working on developing the aesthetics of her body with discipline and maintaining healthy habits.

She enjoys reading, music and theatre as it helps her cultivate her emotions and spirits. Above all, she loves to travel, discover and admire the novelties of the contemporary world. She also recognizes her family as her greatest pride. Personally she comes across as cheerful, sentimental, loving, proactive and very competitive.



Socially, she loves being able to share and help others that is why she has been a volunteer for two years in the Smiles at Christmas project. She considers it is important to put our talents in service of others and contribute to the promotion of education as a basis for the development of Nicaragua.

Mariela is a package of a delegate for Nicaragua to compete at the Miss World 2021 and shine throughout the pageant. Her potential and competitiveness can prove to be a huge asset for the country at the world stage.
