Former Miss World Uruguay Serika De Armas, who competed at Miss World in 2015, passed away at 26 after battling cervical cancer for two years. Armas was a known name in the pageantry in her country.

Miss Universe Uruguay 2022 Carla Romero took to her official social media as she remembered Serika and wrote, “too evolved for this world. One of the most beautiful women I have ever met in my life, on the outside it is obvious but on the inside you can't imagine it. I'm not one to share these types of moments on social networks but everyone already knows... stay with this message.”

Sherika De Armas at the 2015 Miss World contest in Sanya, China, where she was one of only six 18-year-olds to compete but did not make it to the Top 40 at the finals. Alongside pageantry, De Armas sold personal care, makeup, and hair products through the Shey De Armas Beauty Studio.  

As a pageant queen, Armas gave her time to pediatric causes such as childhood cancer organization Pérez Scremini Foundation. May her soul always rest in peace.
