The organisation opted for a press event to crown the representative rather than traditional finale and crowning system of Miss Venezuela.

Under the direction of Osmel Sousa, Venezuela has managed to win more international titles than any other country. Seven Miss Universe crowns, six Miss World, seven Miss International and two Miss Earth crowns, are the golden numbers of Venezuela at beauty pageants.

Miss World is one of the oldest beauty pageants amongst the Big 4 (four) international beauty pageants. Miss World beauty pageant started in the year 1951. The idea of Miss World beauty pageant was conceptualized by late Eric Morley.
