Miss World Vietnam 2022, the 2nd edition of the pageant was held on August 12, 2022, at Merry Land, Quy Nhon, Binh Dinh, Vietnam. Huynh Nguyen Mai Phuong was crowned as the new queen at the end of the event finale by Miss World Vietnam 2019 Luong Thuy Linh.
The final of Miss World Vietnam 2022 was held for the duration of three and a half hours. The contestants performed as various rounds such as Ao Dai (Top 37), Swimsuit (top 20), Evening Gown (top 10), Behavior (top 5). The program follows the format of the Miss World contest.
Phuong, at the Top 5 Q/A, was asked a question by Miss Tran Tieu Vy : "If you had to choose between providing 1,000 meals a day and creating 1,000 jobs, what would you choose" She answered, “During the pandemic, I worked as a volunteer in a kitchen, making 3,000, 5,000 meals a day. These two things are very urgent. Why should we choose one when we can do it in parallel We can create 1,000 jobs, so 1,000 jobs can create millions of meals for the children of the world. And no one will be left behind." Her answer was widely appreciated by the audience as well as the jury.
In the behavior section of the top 2, she received a question from Miss World 2021 Karolina Bielawska: "In the context of the world's deep and wide integration, many countries are at risk of losing their national identity. What do you think. How about this"
Being fluent in English, Phuong responded, "In the diverse development of the world, I have seen a great integration. When a representative of Miss World came to Vietnam, we received a greeting in Vietnamese. I'm not only talking about the story of greetings, but also the story of language, when any foreigner who comes to Vietnam also uses Vietnamese to communicate. Not only the story of Tet. , banh chung, Vietnamese cultural values brought to the world, but also the ao dai. I call them the most unique, symbolic and identity values. Young people need to be extremely proud, take those values anywhere."
Phoung impressed everyone with her confident demeanour, strong personality, and many talents. She also has IELTS 8.0 in English which made her a strong orator. She can sing, dance and play the piano. The beauty was crowned Miss Dong Nai University in 2018, entered the top 5 of Miss Vietnam 2020.
Also at the finale, Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc was adjudged 1st runner-up. She is the tallest contender in the competition standing 185 cm tall. She won the first ticket to enter the Top 20 Miss World Vietnam 2022 by winning the "Fashion Beauty" contest. She is 21 years old, from Can Tho. Bao Ngoc is currently a student at the International Faculty, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, achieving IELTS 8.0.
Phuong Nhi was adjudged as the 2nd runner-up. She is 22 years old and hails from Thanh Hoa. She was commented as one of the contestants with the most beautiful bare face in the final round. Phuong Nhi is majoring in International Commercial Law, Hanoi Law University. She can communicate well in English and Spanish.
The two remaining contestants who made it to the Top 5 were Nguyen Thi Phuong Linh and Nguyen Thuy Linh. Top 10 also included Nguyen Khanh My, Tran Thi Be Quyen, Le Nguyen Ngoc Hang, Bui Khanh Linh, Nguyen Thi Le Nam Em.
Phuong’s predecessor Luong Thuy Linh Miss World Vietnam 2019 entered the Top 12 at Miss World 2019. 1st runner-up Kieu Loan and 2nd runner-up Tuong San respectively entered the Top 10 of Miss Grand International 2019 and the Top 8 of Miss International that year. Congratulations to the winners!
