The coronation night for the 2022 edition of Mutya ng Pilipinas will be held on 4th December 2022 at the Flying V Oil Arena in San Juan City. Mutya ng Pilipinas holds the franchise to Miss Asia Pacific International, World Top Model, Top Model of the World and Miss Tourism International.

While this year’s batch of beauties are remarkable showing immense capability, there is one contestant who is emerging as the dark horse winner of Mutya ng Pilipinas 2022. She is Mutya Ng Pilipinas Makati Shannon Robinson for Mutya Ng Pilipinas 2022, a daughter of former beauty queen from the late 80s and a certified animal advocate.

Shannon was born in Manila but received a broad education from different school systems in The Philippines, Tokyo, Thailand, The UK and the US growing up. Her father is a performing music artist and DJ and her mother was a Flight attendant as well as a pageant queen and model.

She dedicated this year to self-love, to discipline, to health and to acceptance which made her ready to compete at the national pageant. Shannon considers herself as a woman finding herself at the end of her twenties. Through her reign, if she wins, she wants women to know that they can do whatever they want to do and to not feel pressured or unworthy of anything just because of past shortcomings or failures.

Shannon is passionate about fighting for equality for the LGBTQIA+ community. “This community has so much history, color, life and has contributed so much to rights, culture, and society that the fact that they can’t have equal rights is something that I have a hard time accepting. Love is love. And You are who you feel like you are. Only you know who that person is”, she quotes.

She is also raised by a very philanthropic family; her father has raised over 10 million pesos to benefit Filipino communities in need since the pandemic began and continues to do so. Her grandmother’s and mom’s longstanding advocacy is for Missionaries of the Poor, they look after abandoned children with cerebral palsy and abandoned Lolo.

Shannon also dreams of opening a non-profit pet cafe that’s strictly foster dogs and cats in which people can adopt within Metro Manila easier and help get stray dogs out of the pounds and into a place where they’ll always receive love. With her strong advocacies, her stunning beauty and her confidence in loving herself as she has come to become her own person, Shannon is surely a strong contender for the Mutya ng Piipinas 2022 crown.
