Miss Earth 2015 controversies do not seem to end! After Taiwan’s controversial exit from the pageant, the debate has encircled Miss Earth India, Aaital Khosla’s eco-video! On November 26’ 2015, Glamanand Super Model India, the organization which now holds the franchise of Miss Earth in India, released Aaital Khosla’s eco-video on YouTube. The video showcased Aaital’s consideration around the alarming threats for Mother Earth with few glimpses of scenic beauties and landscapes. Within few hours, the video perceived massive abhorrence from Nepal’s citizens as they claimed the landscapes filmed in the video belong to their nation!

While the video showcased the mountain ranges from Mount Everest and the traffic scenes of Nepal’s cities, it also indicated that the Miss Earth India team failed to cross check the facts, completing the eco video in haste without any prior responsibility. Moreover, India’s scenic beauties are filled with abundance from the valleys of Kashmir, to the royalty of Rajasthan, with the tranquil beaches spread over the Southern India, which should have been utilized other than the scenes filmed. The massive upheaval which the eco-video garnered, demanded Miss Earth India to be disqualified from the pageant, as she botched to cross check the verity of the project which represents her very own identity!

The eco-video was removed within less than twenty four hours, and a newly edited video was released soon! The video now glass cased Indian landscapes, but the distress it had caused amongst Nepalese citizens was not paced down. The hashtags like #DisqualifyMissEarthIndia soon began to trend on facebook and twitter, till Miss Earth Nepal, Dibyata Vaidya, expressed her outlook on her facebook handle, saying: “The eco video has created a lot of agitation amongst Nepalese people and I too was equally sad about it. I wanted to talk Miss India about it and get things sorted out. Things are very much clear and according to her it’s her national director, Mr Nikhil Anand who is the culprit behind the video as he uploaded without showing her and did not agree to delete it because it had lots of views. According to Aaital Khosla she does not even want an eco video but her ND uploaded a new video this morning which she is not aware about it. I too think that Miss Earth Organization should not give second chance as it would be unfair for other countries who have worked so hard in so much pressure to submit the video before deadline. I would like to spread her message to my beloved Nepalese people that she is sorry for her mistake. Due to time constraints, she was not able to focus on her project which I can understand. Let’s not spread hatred, and spread only love. I think the whole world needs extra love these days. And let’s show how Nepali people are full of love and warmth and let’s shower nothing but love to Aaital Khosla. Best Regards, Dibyata Vaidya! Jai Nepal!”

On the other hand, Miss Earth India, Aaital Khosla herself took the aid of her facebook account to express her guilt and apology! She posted: “Dear Nepal, I am sorry if I have inadvertently hurt your sentiments by showing part of your lands in my video. It was an unintentional mistake, which I know has caused your people anguish. I deeply regret the same. You are a dear neighbor and will remain so. I seek your forgiveness and I am sure you will be magnanimous in accepting my apology!”
Do you think Aaital Khosla will suffer unfavorable consequences due to this controversy? Will this affect her chances in placement of coronation night?
