Nyisha Tilus was crowned the inaugural winner of the Miss Supra Star Search Competition 2020. She was also awarded the title of Miss Supranational Bahamas 2021 and will represent her country at the 12th edition of Miss Supranational in Poland later this year. Tilus is 28-years-old and hails from Nassau, the Bahamas.

Describing herself as tenacious, attentive and genuine, Tilus chose her little brother, who has Down Syndrome, as her personal hero. "Having a disability isn't easy and while the world may be different for him, he is always seems ready to spread love and joy to anyone he comes in contact with. He is the epitome of light and his existence encourages me to be light”, she said.

On being asked about representing her country at Miss Supranational 2021, Nyisha replied that there isn’t a greater honor for her. She said, “The strength and resilience of the Bahamian people is what makes me most proud to be from The Bahamas. The vigor and force of the united people to rise after Hurricane Dorian speaks to the fortitude of Bahamians. After all, the essence of a culture is in its people.”

The Supra Star Search Competition spanned over 4 months with a rigorous selection process. Tilus defeated 44 other women to give the Bahamas a victory at the first ever edition of this virtual competition along with her male counterpart, Dr. Santosh Upadhyaya from Nepal. Sophie Marie Dunning finished in second place in the Miss Division and will represent England at Miss Supranational, while Theodore Bien-Aime from Haiti finished second in the Mister Division and will represent his country at Mister Supranational 2021.

Congratulations to all the winners!
