Osmel Sousa recently revealed what fans can expect from the popular television competition which is now in its 10th season. He shared his thoughts on how the show has changed over the last nine years and why every contestant has an equal chance to win the highly-coveted crown.

The format of the show has been changed for Season 10, which will welcome the past contestants who were very close to winning in their respective seasons. Also, this years the fans will get to vote from the beginning and will choose the weekly challenges, and contestants will be living on a farm instead of in a mansion.

"They have to come better prepared," Sousa said. "They are contestants that have already done this. They have the experience of being on the show. They have the experience of failure -- because not winning [the title of NBL] is a failure -- so they should all come determined to win."

Osmel says that he expects a "masterful" performance from each of the contestants because, unlike previous seasons, everyone has already had experience working with Univision and taking on the weekly surprise challenges.

As the only judge who has been present for every season of the beauty competition, Sousa knows a thing or two about what contestants need to do to win the crown.  "Besides their foundation, their character and behavior was just as important," he said while discussing the past winners. He added that the ways contestants tackle the challenges every week will say a lot about them.

"There hasn't been much change but I think now it is emphasized that the girls, aside from being pretty and having a great figure, need to be impactful, sincere, talented and with personality," he said. "With all of these attributes we will see who the winner of 'Nuestra Belleza Latina' is.", he concluded.

As president of the Miss Venezuela organization, Sousa has produced more beauty pageant winners for Venezuela than any other country. Venezuela has won 22 global beauty competitions, including seven Miss Universe titles while Sousa has been at the helm the last 30 years. This makes him the most successful beauty pageant director and puts him in the Guinness Book of World Records.
