24 years old Polikseni Manxhari was crowned Miss Massachusetts USA 2015 after competing at Lowell University in Tewksbury. She will now represent Massachusetts at the Miss USA 2015 pageant.
Polikseni was born in Tirana, Albania and came to the States when she was five years-old. She graduated with a degree in Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from Northeastern University in Boston. Polikseni is elated about the win and is extremely proud to be the first Albanian from Massachusetts to win the title. As Miss USA she wants to spread the message that no matter who you are or where you come from, hard work and passion is all you need to live your dreams.
Previously, she used to work for the Samaritans, Inc. and most recently she worked as human resources and recruitment coordinator for the New England Team, Inc.Polikseni is not a newbie in the world of glamour and pageants and has been competing for several years. She was a contestant in the Miss Massachusetts, USA Pageant, several times, and was previously involved in the National American Miss pageant system.
Polikseni likes spending her spare time going out for weekly movie night with friends and playing video games with her nine-year old brother. If Polikseni wins Miss USA, she will be the third contestant from Massachusetts to win the national title. The former Miss USA titleholder from Massachusetts are - Miss Massachusetts, USA 2003 Susie Castillo, and Miss Massachusetts 1998 Shawnae Jebbia. Castillo finished in the top 15 at the Miss Universe Pageant whereas Jebbia was named to the top 5 at the Miss Universe competition.
