Exclusive Interview with CEO of Miss Earth India, Pradeep Maithani

The new CEO of Miss Earth India, Mr Pradeep Maithani hopes to make Miss Earth India better and bigger this year. Currently, heading the Prospur Company, Mr Pradeep Maithani is also associated to Miss Earth Singapore team. Pradeep Maithani is a well known name in business world and has deep concern for environmental issues. Below is the transcript of the interview of Mr Pradeep Maithani with Angelopedia.

Q. This is your first year at Miss Earth India. Where did the idea and concept of initiating Miss Earth India pageant came from?
We observed that in recent past Image of India has been dented globally with regards to a girl’s life cycle for various reasons. Pollution and waste management is another very big issue resulting in poor health for millions of people with significant damage to the environment in India. Working on these issues actually generated the idea of working upon Miss Earth and use the global beauty pageant brand to pass the message to the people. We are sure that when beautiful girls with lots of elegance and brain will raise these two issue of girl’s life and waste free India, people will pay extra attention. It will also help changing mindset towards the girl’s in the society and a respect for a girl child can be generated from Miss Earth India platform.

Q. What has been the biggest challenge you have faced in this period of producing Miss Earth India?
This is our first attempt. May be I can answer this question better next time.

Q. New organization and new team! What changes are you looking forward to bring in Miss Earth India?
We will add Global “Tadaka” on it, taking it to beyond India from business/ Fans and popularity point of view. Participating girls will sure get fame beyond India and can expect a global career.

We are also keen on creating a partners team to work with us with a long term growth mindset and plans. Those partners who have ideas, capability to take a beauty pageant to new levels, with new exciting approaches, I am looking forward to work with them.

Q. What do you look for in the new Miss Earth India?
Extra ordinary beauty, personality who is passionate for environment and have ability to work hard to win Miss Earth for India.  You will see that our girls will get more appreciation as not only they will represent extra ordinary beauty from India, but out of box thinking which we will work hard to surface up. Our team from India & Singapore is keen to work out the magic.

Q. How will you organize the pageant? What will be the pattern of assessments while judging the contestants?
Kindly wait and watch. No point spilling the beans now!

Q. Are you looking forward to invite former Miss Earth India winners in the panel of mentoring?
Certainly. I met Aaital Khosla, last year winner and she was kind enough, all ready to support. We are also talking to some more across the globe. I am keen to speak to Nicole Faria too.

Q. Can you please share with us some of the new elements you are planning to introduce in the world of Indian pageantry?
We have already announced that we will work for 1) Waste free – Green India and 2) BetiBachao-BetiPadhao (Save Daughter – Educate Daughter). We will speak and work on this during our campaign. These two are very key issues in India and we wish to approach, take & give support to organization’s efforts including Government.

Q. Can you illustrate to the pageant fans around the world about the scoring system of Miss Earth India 2016?
All I can say at the moment is, it will be fair, transparent and aimed to select the best.

Q. What message would you like to give to the girls aspiring to join Miss Earth India 2016?
Please be ready to work hard & “Out of box” with us and all the glory will be yours. Our specialists from India & Singapore will work hard to groom you from India and Global point of view to fire the stage at the world level.

Q. What message would you like to give to the pageant fanatics at Angelopedia?"
I am already receiving so much of encouraging words from fans, especially from India and Philippines. People support and passion can do wonders at extra ordinary level. Where else you can get the best cause than, to support both of them together, except Miss Earth?
