Former Miss World Japan Priyanka Yoshikawa stars on Netflix’s ‘Love is Blind: Japan’

Priyanka Yoshikawa, who gained popularity after becoming the second multiracial woman to win Miss World Japan, is joining the popular Netflix show ‘Love is Blind: Japan’. She has a romantic connection with Mizuki on the show. Apart from her appearance at the show, Priyanka is currently the global ambassador for Smile Asia charity.

Represented by Horipro media and news company, Yoshikawa is a 28-year-old Japanese interpreter from Tokyo, Japan. Her parents are Arun Ghosh from India, and Japanese-born mother Naoko Ghosh.

 

 

Priyanka comes from a great heritage as her great-grandfather Prafulla Chandra Ghosh was a politician and the first Chief Minister of the Indian state of West Bengal. Born in Tokyo, she later lived in Sacramento, California, from six to nine years old. Priyanka who also lived in Kolkata for one year before returning to Japan, launched her own skincare brand in 2020.

The stunning beauty held the title for Miss World Japan in 2016. She is the second hafu woman – meaning half Japanese – to win a national title in Japan after Ariana Miyamoto who won the Miss Universe Japan title in 2015.

 

 

Before becoming Miss World Japan, Yoshikawa worked as a translator and art therapist, and also has a license to train elephants. She competed at the Miss World 2016 and placed in the top 20. She continues the fight against racial prejudice in Japan.
