Puteri Indonesia (meaning “Princess of Indonesia”), also known as Miss Universe Indonesia, was established in 1992 and is considered the oldest pageant in Indonesia. The Puteri Indonesia is the beauty pageant in Indonesia that selects and sends the winner for the Miss Universe international pageant. The 19th Edition of Puteri Indonesia is scheduled to be held on February 20th, 2015 at the Jakarta Convention Center. Newly crowned Miss Universe 2014, Paulina Vega from Colombia, will be the guest of honour on the finale night.
The winner for Puteri Indonesia will be selected by the jury based on their performances in the preliminary rounds, including, Evening Gown and National Costume. Thirty Eight finalists from all over Indonesia are participating in the Puteri Indonesia 2015 pageant, for the once in a lifetime opportunity to represent Indonesia in the Miss Universe pageant. These thirty eight participants are as follows-
Abharina Putri, Anastasia Herzigova Mustikandrina, Anindya Kusuma Putri, Annisa Panjani, Annisa Yunas Hermanto, Baiq Dwindy Amelya H, Chintya Fabyola, Dara Anggun Sasra Sugiri, Desti Indah Rizki, Dewi Anggraeni Lamuda, Dian Aryanti, Dina Noviyanti, Erna Tan, Farhannisa Suri Maimoon, Fiona Rahmadita Anggraeni, Gresya Amanda Maaliwuga, Hany Meiyana, Hasrima Dewi Magfira, Jeyskia Ayunda Sembiring, Laras Maranatha Tobing, Lestari Adhelia, Maria Carolina Theresa, Morisca Ramadhany T, Nabila Octasya, Nazilla Putri Daeng B., Ni Made Lia Tansarini, Ra. Cania Marsha Arantxa Suryo, Raden Roro Sheryltha Pratyscha, Rasuna Selvia, Rebeka Steven, Riri Ananingdyah Wibisono, Riska Edith Suzani, S. Olvah Alhamid, Shella Esti Leatemia, Stephanie Aurelrica Tassya Yoe, Tiara Chairani, Wa Ode Avrilia Puspitawati Rusman and Yesi Angraini.
10 finalists will be shortlisted out of these 38 contestants, based on various preliminary competitions, during the finals. Further, these 10 finalists will battle out the route to the title of Puteri Indonesia. Elvira Devinamira, winner of Puteri Indonesia 2014, will pass on her crown to her successor, on the final gala night.
