After a successful stint at Miss Universe 2020 which was held last Sunday, Rabiya Mateo is all set to begin a new journey and invite opportunities to expand her horizons. The stunning Iloilo beauty revealed that she is looking forward to starting a career in showbiz.

During her send off in Florida, Rabiya spoke to the media as she said, “I’ll be taking a bit of a break, but I’ll be back and join showbiz.” Rabiya also specified that she wants to try on acting. But does that mean it’s a goodbye to the pageant world?

Her fans can heave a sigh of relief as Rabiya is not going to leave pageantry altogether as she still wants to be able to somehow help pageant organizers in training the next international pageant candidates.

After placing Top 20 at Miss Universe 2020, Rabiya thanked her fellow Filipinos and mentors as she said, “It was such a beautiful moment to represent you, Philippines. I am forever honored to be part of the legacy, of our history. In my heart, I did everything I can. I trained really hard to be physically fit. I would have sleepless nights trying to read articles to be updated. I made a lot of sacrifices people can't sometimes see. Early call time. Late night rest. Trying to be sane and motivated. It was a challenge but it made me so much stronger everyday.”

She was also praised by none other than Miss Universe 2020 Andrea Meza as she said in an interview, “She’s a gorgeous lady. She was always on point. She was always like perfect hair, perfect outfit, and I think she was a great representative of your country.”
