Miss Malta 2018 crown is up for grabs

Malta is ready to crown its next queen, and it could even be you. The pageant organizers, recently opened the registrations for the Miss Malta 2018 pageant, and welcomed all Maltese girls to apply for the same. Miss Malta 2017 Christie Refalo will be crowning her winner at the event.

Miss Malta is the biggest pageant on the island, and has been wavering about where the winner would go on to represent the country.

In the very beginning of the pageant, the winner participated in Miss World pageant. Between the years 1968 and 2001 the Miss Malta winners participated in the Miss Universe pageant, returning to the pageant in 2016 again. Rosalie Theuma was the last Maltese representative in Miss Universe. After this, starting from the year 2013, the Miss Malta winner took part in Miss Intercontinental and managed to make it into the Top 15 semi-finalists in the year 2007 with Jasmin Schellmann. Previously, Miss Malta also handled Miss World, Miss International and Miss Europe contests. As from 2016 the winner of Miss Malta will be the national ambassador during the Miss Earth pageant.

This year, however, the winner will be the ambassador of Malta at the Miss Earth 2019 pageant.

The Miss Malta organization announced on its official Facebook page, the date and the venue of the event in a post that said: “With pleasure we announce that Miss Malta 2018 will once again be held at the grand Ball Room of Radisson Golden Sands on Saturday 1st December 2018 with a live transmission.”

They also posted the official confirmation with dates and timings on the same page.

 

 

The pageant only calls for three basic criteria for eligibility to compete in the event.

Female of a Maltese nationality

Unmarried and never given birth

Age 17 to 26

The applications for the pageant close on 31st May 2018, so make sure you are registered before that.
