Miss South Africa 2016 Finalists Enjoy Their Perky Voyage

Miss South Africa after Rolene Strauss’s victory at Miss World 2014 has become one of the most anticipated and worldwide observed national pageant. Last year, the organization came up with a very unique idea of providing a former beauty queen as a personal mentor to each and every contestant. The results were quite laudable as expected, as South Africa made the Top 10 cut at Miss World 2015 and Top 15 cut at Miss Universe 2015.

Miss South Africa, presented by Sun International, in collaboration with Cell C, takes place at Carnival City on Saturday, March 19’ 2016. While the finale is just a month far, Mzansi and Vuzu have started preparing the feature inserts and interviews with the Top 12 finalists for the coming weeks leading up to the final event. Few days back, the venue was moved from Sun City to Carnival City.

This edition will be judged by the very eminent magazine editor, poet and writer Kojo Baffoe, actress and TV personality, Sophie Ndaba, Bloemfontein designer, Casper Bosman and magazine editor and style icon, Pnina Fenster. Joining the panel is businessperson and former Miss South Africa, Basetsana Kumalo. The contestants in this year’s pageant will be judged on the basis of intelligence, leadership, talent, physical fitness and a dedication to community service.

Apart from judging the communication skills of the contestants, this year the organization is playing a somber regard to the multimedia round, where every contestant is given the charge of expressing their effective opinions on the official social media handle of the organization for a couple of days.

The Top Model Round is also paid high attention by the team as the contestants are shot by the very elegant team, for the Pretoria. Apart from scenic photoshoots, the contestants have been exposed to an intellectual workshop where the contestants’ wits were assessed by the judging panel.

Who do you think will succeed Liesl Laurie and become the next South African to compete at an international platform?
