Roshmitha Harimurthy from Bangalore defeated 12 other contestants to clinch the prestigious crown of the Femina Miss India Bangalore 2016, which was held yesterday on 24th December 2015 at Shangri-La Hotel, Bengaluru.
The beauty queen was crowned by famous South Indian actress Ragini Dwivedi. The first runner-up title went to Elizabeth Thadikaran, whereas Sanjana GL bagged the second runner-up crown. The judges consisted of Nirup Bhandari (TV fame),Tilak Shekhar (model turned actor),Parvathy Nair (Miss Karnataka 2009),Shavni Shrivastava (Telgu film actress) & Ragini Dwivedi (Former Miss India Contestant and South Indian actress).
Femina Miss India Bangalore 2016 pageant culminated with infinite glitz and glamour. India's most prestigious and credible beauty pageant gives the winner of Bangalore a lifetime opportunity to get a direct entry to the grand finale of Femina Miss India 2016. Shortlisted contestants from various cities in the south of India, including Hyderabad, Chennai and other regions participated to win.
The dazzling evening saw performance by Bollywood diva Gauahar Khan, and brilliant choreographer Punit Pathak on some entertaining Bollywood numbers. The audience were also entertained by Singer Vasundhara Das with her melodious pleasurable voice. Miss India organization, alongwith painter Vilas Nayak paid a tribute to Chennai and its courageous spirit with a heartwarming painting on the Chennai floods. Anusha Dandekar and Sachin Kumbhar were seen as the emcees for the evening who kept the audience and contestants entertained throughout the evening.
Later, the finalists were introduced with some dazzling dance moves, looking splendid in cocktail dresses by Namrata Joshipura. The finalists’ sashayed the ramp in glamourous evening gowns designed by internationally acclaimed designer Swapnil Shinde. The girls also walked the ramp in a special collection styled by Rehan Shah for fbb, the title partner for the pageant.
13 Contestants, who were shortlisted from over 100 aspirants in the auditions presented a fine showcase of charm, poise and determination, making it a tough decision for the judges. The selection process for the contestants spanned over 4 days of intense grooming and meticulous training that the girls were conditioned to. This year the Femina Miss India 2016 pageant traverses across 18 cities, namely Hyderabad, Lucknow, Jaipur, Indore, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Ahmedabad, Goa, Nagpur, Pune, Guwahati, Bhubaneshwar, Bhopal and Chennai, with 3 regional finals in Delhi, Bangalore and Kolkata. This all will culminate into the final round of audition in Mumbai.
