Samantha Leyva, the first runner-up in Miss World Mexico 2016 pageant, has been appointed to represent Mexico in Miss Supranational 2017 to be held on 1st December 2017 in the spa resort city of Krynica Zdroj, Poland.

Samantha, who hails from Acapulco, Guerrero, is 25 years of age and stands tall at 182 cm. She has received such a grand opportunity not only because of her gorgeous looks but also for her versatile qualities. This stunning beauty from Acapulco is a nurse, athlete, and a professional folklore dancer.

She succeeds Cynthia de la Vega, Miss Supranational Mexico 2016, who represented Mexico in Miss Supranational last year and managed to finish amongst the top 25 finalists.

Samantha is the first Afro-Mexican to represent the country in an International beauty pageant. She takes deep pride in her Afromexican roots and supports diverse social causes.

“Contestants in the beauty contest must also submit a proposal for a social program. I am proud of my Afromexican roots, and I feel that I have a responsibility to my community,” Leyva said in an interview last year.

Let us wait and watch if she is able to make her country proud by becoming the first beauty queen from Mexico to win the Miss Supranational title.
