The quest for Miss Australia 2016 has officially started and a total number of 14 stunning contestants are vying for the coveted title.

At the culmination of the event, reigning Miss World Australia, Tess Alexander from Brisbane, Queensland will pass the coveted crown and reign to her successor as Miss World Australia 2016. Tess Alexander represented her country at the 2015 Miss World Pageant in London where she made it to the TOP 10 finalists.

The winner of Miss World Australia will get the golden opportunity to compete at Miss World 2016 to clinch the prestigious crown.

These 14 stunningly beautiful and young women who have been selected to represent the state at the national finals have raised more than $600 million for children’s charity, since the pageant’s inception.

The aspirants of Miss World Australia have been blessed with faultless skin and enviable hair, and also a talented mind. They are a complete package of ‘Beauty with brain’. Miss World Australia National Drector, Ms Miller said she only chooses smart women to compete. "I have to have smart," she said. "You have to have everything nowadays. It's so competitive out there. The girls all raise money for Variety and the charity helps the girls to raise funds. It really helps the girls to be doing these things at a young age."

At the end of the finale, only one lucky contestant will be chosen to represent Australia at the forthcoming Miss World 2016 competition.
