The Miss Universe 2016 pageant is here. In just few weeks, there will be a new Miss Universe as Pia Wurtzbach of Philippines will crown her successor at the conclusion of the 2016 finale slated to be held on 30th January 2017 in Philippines. Amidst all the hustle bustle and final preparation for the night, the contestants are also fixing up their National Costumes for the pageant.
National Costume completion is one of the most anticipated events of Miss Universe pageant. The National Costume round gives the delegates a chance to exhibit the best of their culture and bring forward the rich history of their nation through their costumes. Previously, we gave you a sneak peek of the National Costume of Miss Universe Thailand 2016 Chalita Suansane, it’s now time to move on to Miss Universe Honduras Sirey Morán.
Honduras’ representative Sirey shared a pic of her national costume on her Instagram account. A part of Sirey’s national costume is inspired by the National flower of Honduras, Orquidea Rhyncholaelia digbyana. Her national costume is designed by the famous Venezuelan designer, Douglas Tapia.
Her costume looks grand and regal. Although the overall costume has not been revealed yet, the attire looks grand and will definitely be among the stand out costumes of the contest.
In July 2016, Sirey was stripped of her crown for allegedly not complying with the rules of her organization. Carlos Rivera, CARIMEXX director, said Moran had been attending events without consent and negotiating without their permission. But eventually, all the misunderstandings were resolved between the ambassador and the Miss Universe Organisation. Sirey hired a lawyer who helped in resolving the conflicts.

Sirey is not new to the pageantry. She was a contestant at Miss Honduras Universe 2013, however, could not make a placement. Sirey shifted to New York after the 2013 MU Honduras pageant, and since then has been working as a professional model. Her interest in the field of modelling developed in the year 2008.
