Sthefany Gutiérrez came under the spotlight in 2017 as she won the Miss Venezuela 2017 crown and earned the chance to represent Venezuela at Miss Universe 2018. Being just 19 years of age back then, the Venezuelan fans were a little apprehensive about her being the representative, but she proved everyone wrong by giving outstanding performance at Miss Universe 2018.
At the finale of Miss Universe 2018 held in Thailand on 17th December 2018, Sthefany walked the stage as the Top 3 finalists along with Catriona Gray of Philippines and Tamaryn Green of South Africa. Placing as the second runner-up at Miss Universe 2018 and achieving so much as such a young age, it was clear that Sthefany was not going to back down after her stint at Miss Universe 2018. Since then, she has gone on to become an accomplished model in her country.
Ever since the lockdown, Sthefany has been doing her bit to raise awareness against the spread of covid-19, showing that she is a true beauty queen. She took to her official social media to post about is saying, “Today we look around us and the world is on hiatus, a deadly virus came to visit us without the approval of humanity. We have not been able to stop it and the only way to prevent it is by protecting our own life and that of our neighbor.ino This Crown we threat and salvation is in our hands, avoiding external contact by washing them and staying at home. Now we are valuing the kisses and the hugs that at the moment are a lethal means of contagion. Let us value life, love without prejudice, put into practice human values, be better people, do not lose our essence, greet, forgive, help.”

With her HIV awareness campaign, Sthefany has also helped people to de-sensitize people about the issue.
