The American actress, model and beauty queen Sylvia Hitchcock has passed away. According to reports the former Miss Universe was struggling with cancer for a while. Sylvia won the Miss Alabama USA, then Miss USA and finally Miss Universe titles in the year 1967.

The 5’7” tall beauty queen with hazel brown eyes carried an era of elegance and poise in herself. The Miss Universe 1967 pageant that took place in Miami, Florida witnessed the crowning of this charming woman from USA with innocence in her face and depth in her eyes. Even in the year 1967, a total of 56 contestants competed for the crown and Sylvia defeated all her co-contestants to clinch the crown of glory and success.

Sylvia was married with three children. The former queen developed recycling projects that saved energy, along with her husband. She was a passionate environmentalist and had been making appearances in various state pageants and even in the Miss USA pageants from the past 10-15 years. She also appeared as a judge in the Miss Universe 1972 pageant.

What followed after her crowning is fame and popularity, but instead, Sylvia chose a simple life and worked in Miami as a TV anchor. The woman was always known for her simplicity and her humble approach to llife.

Fighting with cancer, on August 16’ 2015, Sylvia passed away leaving the physical world with the completion that very few women could ever achieve. May her soul rest in peace..!!
