Miss Castle Comfort, Tasia Floissac was crowned Miss Dominica 2016, also popularly known as Miss Dominica Carnival Queen 2016 at the forecourt of the Windsor Park Sports Stadium on February 5th, 2016 by the outgoing queen, Odessa Eli. Nawana Shillingford was adjudged as the first runner-up while Britney Pharaoh was titled as the second runner-up at the conclusion of the event.

Tasia Floissac was sponsored by the Dominica National Petroleum Company Limited (DNPC) and Universal Martial Arts. She competed against five other crown contenders to win the coveted title. Tasia Floissac will now represent her island at Miss Carnival 2016 pageant and at the Miss Caribbean Culture 2016 pageant this summer.

The newly crowned Miss Dominica 2016, Tasia Floissac hails from the community of Atkinson and is currently working as a News Reporter at Dominica Broadcasting Service. After winning the crown, the beauty queen was moved to ecstasy as she expressed: “To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to change you is the greatest achievement!”

During the coronation gala many special awards were also allocated to the contestants, amongst which were:
