The Concurso Nacional de Belleza organization of Colombia has appointed Leicy Rivas as the official delegate of the country for the Top Model of the World 2022 edition. She succeeds Top Model Colombia 2021 Dayana Cardenas for the title.

“Super happy and excited for this new achievement in my life. I want to thank each of the people who have supported me for you a thousand thanks! Words fall short,” Leicy shared. After her time on the reality show ‘La Agencia’, from Caracol Television, Leicy Rivas became one of the most sought-after models in the country.

The 22 year-old diva also shared her story of sexual abuse in a recent interview. This rough moment happened when she was an 8-year-old girl; while the person responsible for stealing her happiness from her future years was a man who lived near the house where she lived with her family.

Leicy Rivas said that in order to try to overcome what happened and fulfill her dreams of being an outstanding model, she met a person who suggested she heal said pain and show herself to the world if she wanted that to be her profession. She believes that all victims of abuse must speak up and denounce their aggressors, as she warns that the world must learn to face this type of violent situation without revictimizing and without impunity reigning.

The diva will be representing the country at the international platform with a strong voice. Last year, Dayana Cardena represented the country at Top Model of the World 2021 but remained unplaced. The reigning queen Top Model of the World 2021 Natálie Kocendová of Czech Republic will crown her successor at the end of this year’s competition.
