Miss Grand India 2020 Manika Sheokand appointed as Goodwill Ambassador for water conservation campaigns in Haryana

VLCC Femina Miss Grand India 2020 Manika Sheokand was appointed as the Goodwill Ambassador of the Water Conversation Campaign for the Haryana government. The Chief Minister of the state Manohar Lal Khattar handed over the appointment letter and agreement to Manika at an event organized at Haryana Niwas on 18th September 2021.

The Chief Minister congratulated Manika for coming forward for the campaign and wished her good luck for the upcoming competitions. While appointing her, the CM stressed on the importance of spreading awareness about water conservation. He also mentioned, “We are hopeful that Manika’s support of this campaign will help conserve water.” She had expressed her interest to associate with the government for their environmental projects with the CM during her visit following her national win back in February this year, since she hails from Uchana in Jind district in Haryana.

 

 

Speaking on the occasion, Manika said, “I am a farmer’s daughter. I feel their pain at the loss of yield due to unpredictable weather conditions. I want to help them by raising awareness on water conservation. Nature has given its bounty of natural resources like water, but it is for fulfilling a need, not greed.”

The beauty queen was highly impressed with the water conservation schemes of the Haryana government. The diva will be looking over as an ambassador for the campaigns, ‘Mera Pani Meri Virasaat’, ‘Atal Bhujal Yojana’ and ‘Jal Shakti Abhiyan’ and feels honored and proud to be appointed as the same for such noble causes.

Manika is 25-years-old and stands 173 cm tall. She graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering and Master’s in Business Administration. She started working at an MNC and is now a professional model, working every day to chase her passion and create a distinct identity for herself.

 

 

Manika is very grateful for the opportunities she has received till now which has helped her to grow and has assured that she will keep fighting until she makes her country proud at international stage and becomes an inspiration to the people who deal with gender-based inequality like her but wants to work to eradicate that from the society.

She is now preparing for her international stint as she will soon head to Thailand to represent India at the upcoming Miss Grand International 2021 pageant. The 9th version of Miss Grand International will take place in December 2021 in Phuket City, Thailand, where Miss Grand International 2020 Abena Akuaba Appiah from the United States will crown her successor at the end of the event.
