The last time Venezuela won the Miss World crown was in the year 2011 when Ivian Sarcos was crowned as the winner. Since then, the country has failed to make the first cut despite sending strong delegates to the pageant. Previously, there was news that Venezuela will not be sending any representative to Miss Universe pageant. However, reports also suggested that if Keysi Sayago gets funded via private donation, she can still compete.

Last year, Diana Croce represented Venezuela at the Miss World pageant, however, was unplaced. The Miss World 2017 finale is scheduled to be held on 18th November 2017 in Sanya, China. Also, this year, Singapore and China will co-host the pageant.
