Miss Universe 2016 finale is just a week away and fans already have their favourite. There are few delegates who have come across as strong contenders for the title this year, and among those are the Filipino charmer Maxine Medina. Maxine is prepared to bring a back to back victory for the country and the beauty is emerging as a favourite.

Recently, the contestants of Miss Universe 2016 attended the gala dinner at Okada Manila. Miss Universe 1973, Margie Moran of Philippines was also present at the gala. The former Miss Universe has one advice for Maxine as the latter is aiming for a back to back. Morgan said, "All I want to tell her is to be a good hostess and just enjoy it because when you enjoy it, you're going to be happier.”

Margie Moran was crowned Miss Universe in the year 1973. According to Moran, she said entered the contest because of the incessant urgings of friends and family. The former Miss Universe had completed her Business Administration degree at Maryknoll College and Boston University, and had done her masters at the University of London.

Recently, Miss Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz, the winner of the country’s first Miss Universe crown said in an interview that she would suggest Maxine to take a translator with her for the finale Q-A round when she meets her. The formal beauty queen explains, “She is a Filipina and I don’t think it will make her less of a beauty queen if she will decide to use our language on the grand coronation.”

When Medina was asked her views on Diaz’ comment, she said that he knew the beauty queen was “misunderstood”.

On the other hand, Pia suggests that Maxine doesn’t need a translator. According to Pia, it is important to converse easily and present oneself in the most positive light during the round.  According to Pia, it is a great upside if the contestant can speak in English as the Question and Answer round is not the end if she wins.

Medina had been criticised previously for her poor communication and English skills. But, the criticism never affected Medina and the beauty queen has always welcomed suggestions on the same.

Miss Universe 2016 finale is slated to be held on 30th January 2017 at Mall of Asia Arena, and at the conclusion of the finale, Pia Wurtzbach will pass on her crown to her successor. Who do you think it will be?
