At the conclusion of the Miss Mauritius 2016 pageant held on August 6’ 2016 in La Plantation Hotel Bessika Bucktowar was crowned as the winner. Bessika succeeds Miss Mauritius 2015 Danika Atchia.

Bessika also won the Special Award of Miss Elegance. The beauty queen is now expected to represent Mauritius at the Miss World pageant. The best dress award was won by Melissa Vencatachellum. Melissa was also awarded with the Talent Award. At the same event, Julie Charles was titled as the first runner-up and , was elected as Miss European Union Mauritius. Shavina Hulkua was adjudged the second runner-up and will now compete in Miss International Mauritius 2016. All the winners will now compete at the 2017 edition of their respective international pageants.

A press conference was held on June 28’ 2016 at Hennessy Park Hotel to select the finalists for the 46th edition of Miss Mauritius Pageant. There were a total of 12 finalists who competed for the coveted title of Miss Mauritius 2016. The 12 finalists of Miss Mauritius 2016 were - Ann Cheddy Casimir, Jennie Matombe, Shavina Hulkua, Hashna Ramnarain, Oceane Mungur, Bessika Bucktowar, Melissa Mungur, Gabriella Lafontaine, Carlie Bonnefille, Melissa Vencatachellum, Laetitia Clair, and Julie Charles.
