Joanne Thornley withdraws participation from Miss Universe Philippines 2024

Miss Universe Philippines Angeles City organization, through their official social media, announced the decision of Joanne Thornley to withdraw from the Miss Universe Philippines 2024. The reason cited in the announcement were related to Joanne’s health which also prevented her from attending earlier activities.

 

 

The organization wrote, “Her health concerns required her to prioritize her well-being above all else. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Miss Universe Philippines organization, sponsors, and all the creatives who have poured their hearts into this endeavor. Your dedication to empowering women is truly commendable. Please continue to extend your support and encouragement to the remaining contestants as they embark on this remarkable journey.”

 

 

Joanne is of Filipino-Canadian descent who hails from Balibago, Angeles City. She is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in fashion design from De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde in Malate, Manila. Not new to the pageant world, Thornley competed at Mutya Ning Angeles 2022 and won the crown. Last year, she also competed at another local pageant Mutya Ning Kapampangan 2023 where she placed as the runner-up.

The organization also mentioned how they are absolutely grateful for all the love and encouragement they have received while Joanne represented the beloved Angeles City in the Miss Universe Philippines 2024 pageant.
