The 58th edition of Femina Miss India, i.e. Miss India 2022, was held on 3rd July 2022 at the Jio World Convention Center, Mumbai where Sini Shetty of Karnataka was crowned Femina Miss India World 2022 at the end of the event finale. She became the official representative of India at the upcoming edition of Miss World.
Introduction and Background
Born in Mumbai in 2000, Sini Shetty hails from Karnataka. A passionate dancer, Sini began practicing the art at the tender age of four and completed her Arangetram in Bharatnatyam when she was 14. Sini completed her schooling from St. Dominic Savio Vidhyalaya in Ghatkopar, Mumbai. After that, she went on to pursue her graduation and completed her bachelors’ degree in accounting and finance from S.K Somaiya Degree College of Arts, Science and Commerce in Ghatkopar, Mumbai. Currently, Sini is pursuing Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
Advocacy
As a part of her initiative for Miss India 2022 advocacy, Sini raised money for children who could not afford cancer treatment through Ketto India and Child Help foundation. CHF is a child-centric organization that believes in the culture of giving.
Interests and Motivation
A firm believer in faith, dedication and hard work, Shetty admits that her grandmother is the most influential person in her life. “She’s someone with compassion, values, intellect and respect. Her guidance and offerings are what I am today,” she said.
Sini has also expressed admiration for Miss World 2000 Priyanka Chopra. “When you look up to a person some of their words get stuck by you. The aspiration value increases, I remember hearing an interview of hers where she stated, ‘Don’t try to squeeze into a glass slipper. Instead, shatter the glass ceiling.’ I have been a fan ever since”, she says.
Apart from dancing as an interest and passion, Sini’s interests also include Arts, Community service, cooking, yoga and travelling.
On her win
Sini, on winning the Miss World India 2022 crown, took to her official social media as she penned down her emotions in a post captioned, “Your Femina Miss India World 2022. Chills every time I hear the title. Chills every time I wear the crown. This crown comes with a lot of responsibilities. I’ll make India proud. Eyes on the next crown now.”
Shetty's win has added another glory gem to Karnataka. Before her, Karnataka has given the country many beauties such as Lara Dutta, Sarah Jane Dias, Sandhya Chib, Nafisa Joseph, Rekha Hande, and Lymaraina D' Souza.
