Amidst all the national pageants, Miss World Fiji Organisation has also started its search for the 2017 contestants. The organiser is on its way to look out for 10 young women who will compete for the chance to represent Fiji on the world stage.

The national director of Miss World Fiji Andhy Blake said, "The Miss World Pageant is not really concerned about a woman's looks but rather we are looking for that young woman who is elegant and is really very confident." He further added, "What we will do for the first time is visit the four main centres to give young girls an easier opportunity to be in the competition."

The organisation will divide the auditions into four zones, and the auditions in the different zones will happen under the following dates -

March 11 - Lautoka (venue TBC)

March 18 - Nadi (venue TBC)

March 25 - Suva:  Tappoo's

April 1 - Labasa: Grand Eastern Hotel

The finale of Miss World Fiji will be held at the Grand Pacific Hotel, starting from June 5th to June 10th. A total of 10 girls will be selected to compete for the title. Blake also gave an insight to the judges for the finale and said, "The judges background are journalism, sports and fashion because of what the combination brings to the table and how it will help us choose the right representative. A journalist can pick out a good speaker and sports people can identify physically fit contestants while a fashion judge can tell us who has good fashion style."

The organisation is looking for a confident young woman who is ready to promote Fiji on an international scale. The Organisation wants a representative who should be able to showcase the unique aspects of their country. The Miss World Fiji Pageant has seen increasing success in the past two immediate representatives; Britney Hazelman and Pooja Priyanka. The Organisation is now eager to find someone who can take their achievements and build on it.
