Małgorzata Rożniecka from Poland was crowned Miss International 2001 on 4th October 2001 in Tokyo, Japan. She was 23 years of age when she won the title and her 2001 victory broke the four-year monopoly of Latin American countries of the crown. Małgorzata defeated 52 other delegates from all over the world to win the title. At the end of the event, Vivian Urdaneta of Venezuela crowned her successor Małgorzata Rożniecka of Poland.
