Probably one of the most popular and most sought after delegate this year is Miss World Philippines 2018 Katarina Rodriguez. The 26-year-old Filipina beauty was a very deserving candidate from the very start, which is why she is one of Angelopedia’s favourite contestants this year for the title of Miss World 2018.

Standing tall at a height of 170 cm, Katarina has been active in the pageant world for a very long time. She was the 2nd runner-up of Asia’s Next Top Model 2014, then Katarina participated in Binibining Pilipinas 2017 where she was crowned Miss Intercontinental Philippines 2017.

Katarina later went on to represent the Philippines in Miss Intercontinental 2017 and was awarded the position of 1st runner-up to the winner, 1st runner-up in Best in National Costume and also won the Miss Media Popularity award.

A beauty with brains, Katarina is an advocate of peace and HIV-AIDS awareness and added to that, she has been garnering a lot of appreciation for her Beauty with a Purpose project, ‘Project Become’, something she started with her friends to help the people in Marawi who were affected by the war.

Katarina is a graduate of De La Salle University from where she has studied Philosophy and Business Management. In the future, she wishes to complete her PhD and become a diplomat. The achievements of this beauty do not end here! Katarina is multilingual with the ability to speak fluently in Tagalog, Filipino and English languages. Since both her parents are of Spanish descent, she can also speak some basic Spanish.

During her free time, Katarina likes to practice ballet, play the violin, do yoga, horse-riding and surfing. She is very active in sports, as she is a competitive long-distance runner and has a black belt in Tae-Kwan-Do. Katarina also loves kickboxing.

Katarina was crowned Miss World Philippines 2018 during the coronation ceremony held on 7th October 2018 in Manila, Philippines. the nation has won the title of Miss World once in the past, in the year 2013 when Megan Young took the crown home for her nation. If Katarina manages to win the title, she will become the second ever Filipina to have won the international crown.

With such a long list of achievements, experiences and interests, she was bound to become one of the strongest contestants this year. With such a strong foothold, it won’t be surprising if she ends up wearing the crown on 8th December 2018 in Sanya, China.
