Anne Murielle Ravina who was appointed as Miss Supranational Mauritius 2022 in December last year, has withdrawn her participation from Miss Supranational 2022. Following which, a new representative has been chosen by Miss Maurice organization.

In a statement released 18th April, 2022 the organization declared,” The Miss Maurice Organization is happy to announce that Miss Alexandrine Belle-Étoile will represent Mauritius at the Miss Supranational 2022 and Miss Universe 2022 pageants. Miss Belle-Étoile, has been selected by the Miss Maurice Team after her excellent interview at the last casting.”

Now, Alexandrine Belle Etoile will represent Mauritius at Miss Supranational 2022. While there is no official statement from the organization, Anne posted a video to instate transparency among her followers and captioned it,” A message for all the people who have been following me through all my endeavours. I owe you transperency. Forever grateful for every support.”

According to a leading media portal, Anne decided to withdraw her participation as she felt her decisions were not respected and rather trivialized. “It is time to sound the alarm. I wanted to do Miss Universe to form my own opinion because I didn't want to put all the organizations in the same basket. In the end, women are also trivialized, exploited and marginalized. Our decisions are not respected. I rather hope that the women who succeed me will have better treatment,” she shared.

A Mauritian blog confided that this is coming after the Miss World 2018 Top 8 qualifier has endured protracted discord with the Miss Maurice organization, and revealed that the organization “doesn’t believe in her potential”, and “she was forced to be involved in certain unfair things”.

According to Nevin Rupear, national director of the Miss Maurice by Estrella organization, “Anne Murielle did as she pleased. We had chosen her for her experience in the Miss World pageant. Candidates sign a one-year contract and must keep their commitments. But throughout the competition, we had problems with Anne Murielle, in particular because of her lack of discipline, rigor and professionalism. She only took one hour of training out of the 30 hours we provided.”
