The Miss Universe Mauritius organization has officially announced Anne Murielle Ravina as Miss Maurice 2021 a few hours ago. The organization released a press statement for immediate release on 29th August regarding the same. They also took to their social media to share, “We are pleased to announce that Anne Murielle Ravina from the beautiful Rodrigues Island will represent Mauritius at the 70th Miss Universe Pageant.”
Since the Miss Universe Organization announced that their forthcoming pageant will be hosted in Eilat, Israel in December 2021, the Miss Maurice Organization has decided to appoint Murielle as the national representative so she can complete her training sessions in Mauritius and the USA before flying to Eilat.
Murielle is 26 years-old and is the very first woman from Rodrigues Island to compete at Miss Universe. She holds a degree in Political Science and is a Secondary School Educator teaching Art and Design. Not new to pageantry, she represented Mauritius at Miss World 2018 competition and placed among the Top. She was also featured in CNN along with Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi as Africa’s inspirational women.
Even though Murielle is an ambassadress for Rodrigues Island Tourism, as Miss Maurice 2021, she will be promoting Mauritius and its territories, both nationally and internationally. Miss Maurice 2020, Vandana Jeetah will be helping Murielle in her preparations and former Miss Universe Mauritius titleholders have expressed their will to support Murielle in her incredible journey.
The Miss Maurice Organization has been monitoring the current pandemic situation since the beginning of this year and has concluded that it is best to conduct its national pageant in March 2022; 27 regional contestants will compete for the crown of Miss Maurice. Titleholders will be chosen for Miss Universe, Miss Supranational, Miss Asia Pacific, Miss Landscapes and a new franchise which will be announced soon. The online application for the 2022 national pageant will be available from mid-September.
