World Top Model 2019 concluded on 14th December 2019 at Fairmont, Monte Carlo as Italy’s Valentina Beraldo was crowned the new queen. While Philippines’ representative April May Short did not win the crown, she did place in the Top 12 with her incredible performance. The stunning beauty mesmerized everyone with her style, grace and stunning body who stands 180 cm tall.
April also created history as she became the first Filipina to automatically qualify as a scholar of the World Top Model Academy in Milan Italy from June-July 2020 with her placement in Top 12. With her performance gaining applause from designers and acclaimed people from the Fashion Industry all over the world, April also became the only model chosen by Internationally acclaimed jewelers BaroQco and numerous invitations to grace fashion events in Europe.
The pageant fanatics from Philippines and also the rest of the world who showed immense support to the beauty were very happy for her accomplishments. This proves that the crown is not always the grand prize but there are other things in the store for people who put in hard work and determination in their craft.
April holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy from the University of Zamboanga and after that, she studied Masters of Business Administration at Ateneo De Zamboanga University. The young lady is a model by profession who has worked for various designers. Her prior experiences in the pageantry include participating in Binibining Pilipinas 2019 where she placed in the Top 15 and prior to that winning the title of Miss Zamboanga 2018.
