The much-anticipated pageant of Binibining Pilipinas 2017 has finally come to an end with the crowning of Rachel Peters as the main winners. The finale was a mesmerising night to remember. The contestants were on point with their performances and the confidence level was boosting high among all the 40 delegates.

The Bb Pilipinas Organisation previously announced that this year the prime focus of the pageant will be in the Q&A segment, and we saw the Top 15 finalists going for the Q&A round this year. The change in the format did bring a level of nervousness and tension among the contestants, as was seen in the Q&A segment of Sirene Sutton. Binibini 13 Sirene Sutton was among the front runners for the title and was a heavy favourite for the crown this year.

She was also among the most cheered ones as she took the stage in her swimsuit and evening gown. But the beauty wavered during the Q&A round. The question for her was: "Is it right for parents to demand support from their children in exchange for raising them?"

Sirene then replied "No," but then asked for the judge to repeat the question.

On her second attempt to answer, Sirene answered yes then backpedaled and said, "No, sorry," without clarifying.

Pia Wurtzbach, who was one of the hosts for the night, later addressed the audience and told them that what the candidates are going through is not simple.

Sirene obviously failed to make it to the Top 6 winners. Later speaking to ABS-CBN News, Sirene admitted that she got nervous. “I was so nervous and I didn’t understand the question. I didn’t understand it properly, maybe it was my nerves and the pressure,” she said.

However, the beauty didn’t lose heart and thanked all her fans for the support. “I just want to thank everyone who supported me. My friends, family and supporters. Probably, it wasn’t my night, but who knows?” she added.

While Rachel Peters won the main title and will represent Philippines at Miss Universe 2017 pageant, Binibini 15 Maria Angelica de Leon was crowned Bb Pilipinas International 2017, Binibini 22 Chanel Olive Thomas was crowned as Bb Pilipinas Supranational 2017, Binibini 39 Elizabeth Durado Clenci was announced as Bb Pilipinas Grand International 2017, Binibini 31 Katarina Sonja Rodriguez was crowned Bb Pilipinas Intercontinental 2017, and Binibini 18 Nelda Ibe was crowned Bb Pilipinas Globe 2017. Binibini 32 Charmaine Elima, and Binibini 40 Kristel Guelos finished as first and second runners-up respectively.
