Miss World Philippines 2016, and now Miss Universe Philippines 2018, Catriona Gray has had one unique ambition. Where many would consider themselves lucky to have become the Miss World for their nation, Catriona hasn’t learned to be satisfied in just the things life gave her. She wanted more and struggled to enter the journey of Miss Universe Philippines 2018.
It was truly the right decision for this beauty queen, as the whole country came together to support her in this decision. The immense love and support she received made it clear that she would be walking away with the title. However, she never let such speculations affect her, and worked twice as hard to prove herself worthy of the Binibining Pilipinas 2018 crown.
She even showed her soft-hearted side, when the Mariel De Leon controversy got everyone talking. While Mariel took shots at her on her social media Catriona came out in support of Mariel. Her humble nature and big heart won millions of hearts in the Road to Miss Universe Philippines 2018 that it did not matter if she won; she had already become the queen.
While Miss World Philippines 2016 saw Catriona’s sweet side, all of her presentations for Miss Universe Philippines 2018 were fierce and sharp.
Recently Catriona shared a journey video on Instagram and shared a beautiful message with it as well.
"When the sharpest words wanna cut me down. I'm gonna send a flood gonna drown them out. This is brave, this is bruised, this is who I'm meant to be - this is me." To everyone who ever had a dream but was scared to try, afraid to fall...there will be challenges, people who will try and put you down and trip you, there will be risks and moments of doubt...but keep going, keep hustling, stay true to yourself and to the ambition that God placed in your heart.
