The news of Binibining Pilipinas 2020 pageant undergoing a major revamp surfaced the beauty pageant world after the pictures of Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray and Binibining Pilipinas Grand International 2016 Nicole Cordoves surfaced the internet. It was later announced that the two beauty queens will be training the delegates of Binibining Pilipinas 2020.
Recently, the two beauty queens conducted a virtual orientation in order to meet the beautiful divas who will be vying for the national title and an opportunity to represent the Philippines at the international stage. The live video orientation was posted on Binibining Pilipinas’ official Facebook page. The live started when Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray mentioned that she and Nicole have been planning to conduct this live session for a while now in order to get to know the delegates. Nicole introduced the plan on how they will be mentoring the divas by mentioning that they will be having three more sessions where they will conduct workshops which will include activities for the delegates and know them better. She also mentioned that this orientation live is only to give them a brief idea about what to expect from the workshops and make them ready for the finale night.
Catriona stated that as a mentor for Binibining Pilipinas, she is very excited to take on a new role and help them train and get ready for the finale night as they both know how each of the divas on the live chat feels. The diva mentioned that they will be advising them on how to revolve and evolve around their advocacies using the platform and public speaking and since everyone is using the social media as their platform until the standard platform comes in play; they will focus on helping them to have a genuine and authentic voice on social media. The divas will be focusing on the authenticity of social media as of now because due to the pandemic the standard beauty pageants have been postponed along with the pre-pageant activities but the organization will keep a keen check on the delegates’ social media as few of them will represent the Philippines at the international level.
Nicole and Catriona specifically mentioned that by stating that they will be helping them to maintain a genuine and authentic social media presence does not mean that their social media will be filled up with glam photos or beauty shots but it will be much more than that. It is about the voice that one has inside them which resonates with how an individual is and what are they aspiring to do as Miss Philippines. Nicole stated that during their workshops they will have various activities during which the delegates can ask questions to both the queens about themselves or anything that is related to the beauty pageant if they feel like there is a scope of improvement. She stated that if the delegates want to work on themselves and get ready for the finale night then these workshops will help them and the queens will give a constructive feedback which will help them during the competition and in life as well.
Both the queens mentioned that the only way they can help the Binibinis is if they are willing to put themselves out there and are ready to give their hundred per cent for the competition. After every workshop Miss Universe 2018 and Binibining Pilipinas Grand International 2016 will be giving the current delegates of Binibining Pilipinas homework because they want everyone to apply what they are being taught as they are the future representatives of the Philippines.
The two queens later interacted with the 40 delegates of the competition and lastly mentioned that they are not going to judge them on the basis of the looks or makeup during any of these workshops but only on the basis of the amount effort one puts in to achieve their goals at the end of the day.
