Miss Minnesota 2016 Madeline Van Ert placed the crown on Brianna Drevlow, Miss North Star, after she was named as Miss Minnesota 2017 at the Eden Prairie Arts Center on Saturday evening.
She will now represent her state at the Miss America competition 2018 to be held in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on September10, 2017. The event will be broadcast by the American Broadcasting Company (ABC). Miss America 2017 from Arkansas, Savvy Shields will officially crown her successor.
Brianna recently finished her first year of graduate studies, pursuing a Masters in Music Composition from Bowling Green State University as a teaching assistant. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Concordia College and is a freelance composer and private music instructor.
Brianna's personal platform is, "Brenna's Brigade: Juvenile Arthritis Awareness,” which is inspired by her eight year old sister, Brenna, who struggles with arthritis. As a goodwill ambassador for the Children's Miracle Network and the Arthritis Foundation, Brianna advocates for the awareness of pediatric auto-immune diseases and provides a network of support for children and families.
Brianna is the oldest of eleven children in her house and she loves swing dancing. She has also taken private pilot lessons.
