Chelsea Dubczak crowned as Miss Iowa 2017 for Miss America 2018

Chelsea Dubczak, 23, of Urbandale, was crowned Miss Iowa 2017 after the competition ended on Saturday night at Davenport’s Adler Theatre.

She will now represent her state at the Miss America 2018 to be held in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on September10, 2017. The event will be broadcast by the American Broadcasting Company (ABC). Miss America 2017 from Arkansas, Savvy Shields will officially crown her successor.

Dubczak, this year’s Miss Metro, is the daughter of Lori Dubczak. She has done her graduation from Drake University where she is pursuing a bachelor’s of music in vocal performance.

Her future goal includes becoming nutritional therapy practitioner, strength and conditioning coach, and cruise ship entertainer. Her platform is Ladies Who Lift: Encouraging young women to pursue their strongest selves. Her talent is opera.

She has also worked one-on-one with over 100 individuals during the last year to instill a positive relationship with their bodies. These individuals include friends she had known, as well as people she have never met, ages ranging from 12-66 years old.

The Outgoing queen Kelly Koch passed the crown to her successor Chelsea Dubczak and signed off for the last time. She congratulated Chelsea on the win and awarded her dream job to her.
