The splendid coronation night of Miss World Philippines 2016 culminated with the crowning of massive crowd favourite, Catriona Elisa Magnayon Gray. Gray will now represent Philippines at the sixty-sixth edition of Miss World 2016 to be held on 18 December in Washington D.C, USA. The 22 year old model Gray succeeds last year's winner Hillarie Danielle Parungao.
The finale which took place on 2 Oct 2016 at the Manila Hotel, Philippines was hosted by Richard Gutierrez (Filipino actor), Gwendoline Ruais(Miss World Philippines 2011), and Queenie Ajero Rehman(Miss World Philippines 2012).
The Filipino-Australian beauty is a model, host and blogger who hails from Albay. She defeated 24 other candidates from all over the Philippines and was one of the competition favorites from the start. She was also one of our Top 5 Favourites for the title.
At the same event, Arienne Louise Braga Calingo (No. 05) was adjudged as the first runner-up, Ivanna Kamil Suficiencia Pacis (No. 18) was titled as the second runner-up, Marah Munoz (No. 21) was adjudged as the third runner-up and Sandra Raymundo Lemonon (No. 08) finished as the fourth runner-up.
The Miss World Philippines 2016 finale started off with the introduction of the contestants, followed by the Preliminary Competition of Swimsuit and Evening Gown rounds. The pageant also saw a list of prominent judges scrutinizing the contestants. The judging panel included –
