When Binibining Pilipinas 2017 is on its way, that’s all you can think of and that’s all you can discuss about. A while ago, former National Director of Miss World Philippines Cory Quirino expressed that Catriona Gray should join the Binibining Pilipinas 2017 pageant. Cory said that Catriona can be the next Pia Wurtzbach. She could win the Philippines’ 4th Miss Universe crown.

Cory’s comment gave rise to speculation regarding Catriona’s participation at the Bb Pilipinas pageant this year. And everybody was waiting for a confirmation from Catriona’s end. The Miss World Philippines 2016 has finally spoken up on the rumours surrounding her participation at the Bb Pilipinas. Catriona Gray said there are good chances of her participating and that she is keeping the options open, but not for this year.

The beauty queen added that she is overwhelmed with the response. Catirona added that she is flattered and grateful that everyone believes in her, but for now she wants to give it all a rest. The beauty queen said that she wants to finish her reign as Miss World Philippines and would like to dedicate her time on her MWP projects for now. She further added, (as translated), "So I'm not going to close the doors on it, but for now I'm asking people to let me rest first. Like I said, I did give so much in Miss World, and I'm going to fulfill my reign.”

"It's not going to be this year .. I really want to fulfill my duties and do as much as I can for my charity and beyond, but yes I'm also open to the opportunity," added Catriona.

Cory, on the other hand, said that if Catriona wants to join the Binibining Pilipinas she has her blessings.
