While we witness crossovers from one pageant to another more commonly than ever in the Philippines where beauty queens try their best to achieve the best positions, the most known example being of Catriona Gray Miss Universe 2018, there is one beauty queen who stands out for a multiple reasons. Christi Lynn McGarry, the Filipino-American beauty queen won a place for herself in all the Filipino hearts as she became the only beauty queen to represent her country at Miss Intercontinental twice.
Hers is quite an interesting journey as Christi was crowned Mutya ng Pilipinas Asia Pacific 2010 but instead was sent to Miss Intercontinental 2010 in Dominican Republic. The original Mutya ng Pilipinas Intercontinental 2010 Carla Lizardo could not fulfill the overseas mission and thus Christi was appointed Miss Intercontinental Philippines 2010. As she represented her country at Miss Intercontinental 2010, Christi gave an exemplary performance and placed in the Top 15. She was also crowned Continental Queen of Asia and Oceania 2010.
Her journey did not end for the year as she was again appointed Top Model Philippines 2010 and represented her country in Top Model of the World 2010. At the end of the event finale, she again placed in the Top 15. She made a place in every Filipinos hearts’ with her amazing journey.
She came back to pageantry in 2015 as she suited up for Binibining Pilipinas 2015 and competed with even more energy and grace. But as fate would have it, Christ was again crowned Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental 2015 and gained the right to represent Philippines at Miss Intercontinental for the second time. This time she performed even better and was adjudged the first runner-up at the end of the event finale. She claimed the title of Continental Queen of Asia Oceania once more.
Her journey has been quite amazing as she showed great growth from her stint in 2010 to 2015. Even though she did not get a chance to represent her country in a major pageant like Miss Universe or Miss World, this 180 cm tall beauty has left a credible mark for herself in the pageantry with her performance.
