Courtney Thorpe is Miss World Australia 2014

Courtney Thorpe from Queensland won the Miss World Australia 2014 pageant held on July 27th 2014 at the Oaks Cypress Lakes in Hunter Valley. She was crowned by her predecessor Erin Holland, the Miss World Australia 2013. She will now  at the represent Australia at Miss World 2014 this December in UK, where Megan Young, the reigning Miss World, will crown her successor.

After a hectic four days of competition which saw Courtney and 42 other beautiful girls from across the country competing in a fitness endurance course, beach beauty photo shoot, fashion show, talent show and top model runway show, Courtney impressed the panel of judges to win the title in the Hunter Valley.

Courtney said after winning the crown “Still waiting for someone to tell me it was all just a dream. Thank you firstly to the other incredible contestants for making the entire past week unforgettable, I hope I will do the class of MWA 2014 proud.”

Courtney is a graduate from Queensland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Journalism. She is a children’s book author, stylist and budding journalist. She is 24 years old.

The first runner up was Alex Hecker was the first runner-up, while Laura Jane Corker finished second runner-up.
