Diana Hernandez, a woman of goals and dreams, is one of the representatives of Miss World Nicaragua 2016. She expressed great pride that she was born in the community of El Jicaro, which is a municipality in the Nueva Segovia Department of Nicaragua.

Describing about her school days, she said she used to walk an hour and a half to get to the place of study, along with his brother and cousins, and those moments have made a special place in her mind.

During her childhood, her favorite pastime was making clay dolls, playing barracks, going to church on Sundays, playing baseball, and listening to stories of Pancho Madrigal.

At ten, she was separated from her parents and siblings as she had to travel to the city of Matagalpa to complete her high school. She says that she used to cry daily because she felt lonely, but on the other hand, she proves to be an excellent student and has grown up to be a wonderful woman now. She has a degree in Law and other technical areas.

At the age of 21, she has fulfilled many of her objectives, as she began working in an NGO, which is specialized in serving youth and women.

Currently, she is recognized for her work at the national and international level on gender issues and restoration of human rights. She founded her own NGO, dedicated towards eradicating violence and teenage pregnancies, since this is a problem that affects her city. And she is happy to bring out the change in the lives of many women of rural areas by giving them legal advice and support.
 

As part of her charitable work in Miss World, she has proposed to launch a proposal called: “Charge a backpack and no belly”, to take note that education is the fundamental tool for change and advancement of women and young people.

In her spare time, she likes doing pedagogy, playing guitar and riding motorcycles. Besides teaching, she believes that critical theatre is the best way to educate any person.

Diana Hernandez wants to win the Miss World crown for her country because she wants to use that platform to change the perception of the world and prove that she can be the voice of those who remain silent for fear of change, fear of success, and fear of difference.

She keeps her faith in “the key to success is to trust in yourself and in God.”
