One of the most loved Big 4 queens of the year, Miss International 2015, Edymar Martinez from Venezuela scheduled a visit to Barcelona, Anzoátegui whereby she was received by the mayor of Barcelona quite warmly.

On her visit to Barcelona, Edymar Martinez, was grandly greeted by the Mayor of Barcelona Guillermo Martinez Gil along with his wife Jamila. The municipal leaders were quite happy at the arrival of the oriental beauty, who was then congratulated for her achievements and honored with a replica of the Virgen del Valle.

Edymar represented her state Anzoátegui at Miss Venezuela and hence is deeply attached to her city, Barcelona. Edymar was so touched by her grand reception that she got incredibly emotional as she thanked her fans for the support and the faith they showered on her. The beauty queen expressed: "I am very excited to be in the company of the whole family of Barcelona, in this eve of Christmas which represents the spirit of goodwill, brotherhood and love. Happy that all citizens of the municipality, are making great efforts to revive our capital city of Anzoátegui State."

The beautiful queen, Edymar Martínez was pleased to be invited to the evening, wherein she took the opportunity to emphasize that these activities are certainly needed in the city that is reborn today. She added: "Our public spaces are being taken by citizens to share in family. It is something we all need in Barcelona, and what could be more better way to get the Christmas spirit in these areas."

Groups like gran coquivacoa, Palo and Gaita, Swing Piper and La Cuadra Gaitera entertained the beauty queen with their dances and songs. The mayor on the behalf of all Barcelona, Anzoatiguenses and Venezuelans expressed gratitude to Edymar during a press conference held in Anzoategui Museum of Barcelona, whereby he expressed: "We are immensely proud of you because not only you represented a beautiful woman, but you showed our values, principles and ideas, it really is Venezuela: a conscious, loving being, a lot of spiritual strength, of struggle and will."

During her reign, Edymar has traveled across Japan for sponsor visit alongside Venezuela. In the coming year of her reign, she is expected to travel to countries such as Myanmar, Spain, Thailand and some parts of South America.
