Emanii Davis crowned Miss Georgia USA 2016

Emanii Davis, the reigning Miss Spalding County USA, was crowned as Miss Georgia USA 2016 by the outgoing queen, Brooke Fletcher, at the conclusion of the pageant, held at the Henry County Performing Arts Center in Mc Donough on November 21, 2015. She will have the opportunity to represent her state at the 2016 Miss USA Pageant where she hopes to be crowned by the reigning Miss USA Olivia Jordan from Oklahoma. Miss Heart of Gwinnett, Keila Diaz was adjudged as 1st runner-up, Miss Midtown, McKenzie Blair-Griffith was titled as 2nd runner-up, Miss Buford, Marianny Egurrola was declared as 3rd runner-up and Miss Southern, Kristen Robinson was announced as 4th runner-up in the pageant. In the same event, Bentley Wright, Miss Coastal Georgia Teen USA, was named the 2016 Miss Georgia Teen USA.

Emanii, who is from Cleveland Ohio, is currently a senior at Valdosta State University.  She is occupied with Emerging Leaders, NAACP and Ambassadors for VSU and would like to work for E- News or CNN as a broadcaster. She beamingly opined: “I plan to be well off financially, living in a big city, and hopefully married with a child or two. Most importantly, I plan to be happy and enjoying life.” Formerly, Emanii was the fourth runner up in the Miss Georgia USA 2014 pageant but did not compete last year.

Georgia is within the top fifteen states in terms of the majority semifinalist placements at Miss USA pageant, which counts as twenty! Georgia is one of the only seven states to have won more than one Miss Photogenic award but despite having a large number of runners-up, no Miss Georgia USA has won the national title.
